User Data Deletion Policy

Effective Date: September 17, 2025

At The DSQ, we respect your privacy and your right to control your personal information. This policy outlines your right to request the deletion of your personal data and explains the process, scope, and limitations of such requests.

1. Your Right to Deletion

You have the right to request the deletion of the personal information that we have collected and stored about you. A verifiable request for deletion will result in the permanent removal of your personal data from our active systems.

The data eligible for deletion includes, but is not limited to:

  1. Your first and last name
  2. Your account password
  3. Your email address(es) and phone number(s)
  4. Your stored shipping and billing addresses
  5. Your marketing preferences and communication history
  6. Your website browsing history and data linked to your account

2. How to Request Data Deletion

To request the deletion of your personal data, you must submit a verifiable request to us by:

  1. Emailing our privacy team at: info@thedsq.com
  2. Using the contact form on our website: thedsq.com/pages/contact

Please include "Data Deletion Request" in the subject line.

To protect your information, we will need to verify your identity before proceeding with your request. This may require you to provide specific pieces of information related to your account or past orders, which we will match against our records. This is a security measure to ensure that your data is not wrongfully removed at another person's request.

3. The Deletion Process

Once your identity is verified, we will process your request within a reasonable timeframe, typically within 30 days. Upon completion, we will send you a confirmation email.

Please be aware that the deletion of your data is irreversible. The consequences include:

  1. Your user account on thedsq.com will be permanently closed.
  2. You will lose access to your order history, wishlists, and any stored preferences.
  3. You will be unsubscribed from all marketing and promotional communications.

4. Exceptions and Data Retention

While we honor your right to have your data deleted, we are required by law and for legitimate business purposes to retain certain information, even after a deletion request. We will not delete data where it is necessary to:

  1. Complete a Transaction: Fulfill the terms of a written warranty, process a pending order, or handle an ongoing return or repair.

  2. Comply with Legal Obligations: Retain transaction and order information for financial auditing, tax reporting (as required by the IRS), and other legal or regulatory requirements. This data is typically retained for a period of up to 7 years.

  3. Security and Fraud Prevention: Detect security incidents, protect against malicious, deceptive, fraudulent, or illegal activity, or prosecute those responsible for that activity.

  4. Legal Claims: Retain information necessary to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.

In cases where we must retain data, we will only keep the specific information required for these purposes and will remove it from our active marketing and user databases. Where possible, we may anonymize your data (removing all personal identifiers) instead of deleting it, so it can be used for statistical analysis without being linked to you.
